The Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) in White Smoke are Bose's redesigned 2026 generation of its iconic over-ear noise-cancelling headphones, combining upgraded QuietControl active noise cancellation, Bose TrueSpatial immersive audio, lossless USB-C listening, Bluetooth 5.4 multipoint connectivity, clearer call performance, and up to 24 hours of battery life. The refreshed design introduces smoother pill-shaped earcups, a wider adjustable headband, plush synthetic-leather cushioning, and a cleaner modern silhouette while preserving the lightweight comfort that has defined the QuietComfort line for decades. Bose's upgraded QuietControl noise cancellation uses a six-microphone system and improved adaptive processing to reduce surrounding distractions during flights, commuting, work, studying, and everyday listening. One of the major improvements in this generation is better compensation for imperfect earcup seals. Bose specifically designed the new system to maintain stronger ANC performance when glasses, hair, or hats create small gaps between the cushions and the listener's head.

Quiet Mode provides maximum noise cancellation, while Aware Mode allows environmental sound through when situational awareness is important. Updated ActiveSense Technology works inside Aware Mode to smooth sudden spikes in outside noise, such as a passing train or other abrupt loud sound, instead of allowing those sounds to enter at their full intensity. Noise cancellation can also be manually adjusted or completely disabled through the Bose app.

The biggest listening upgrade is Bose TrueSpatial Technology, which brings Bose Immersive Audio to the standard QuietComfort family. Instead of presenting music strictly between the listener's ears, TrueSpatial processing creates a wider and more externalized soundstage. Bose also includes Cinema Mode, which is optimized for movies and video content by expanding ambience and effects while keeping dialogue focused and intelligible.

USB-C is now far more than a charging connection. The QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) support lossless wired digital playback at up to 24-bit/48 kHz, allowing compatible computers, phones, and tablets to send high-quality audio directly to the headphones. Two-way USB-C audio also allows microphone input to travel back to the connected device, making the headphones useful for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other calling applications as well as music playback.

The headphones can also be used while charging over USB-C, removing the need to stop listening when the battery runs low during a long work session or flight. Bose additionally supports analog sources through a USB-C-to-3.5mm connection, maintaining compatibility with devices such as airline entertainment systems.

Wireless connectivity moves to Bluetooth Core 5.4 with multipoint support. Two compatible source devices can remain connected simultaneously, allowing a user to stay paired to both a laptop and smartphone and move between music, video, and calls with less manual Bluetooth switching. Compatible Android devices also support Google Fast Pair for streamlined setup.

Battery life reaches up to 24 hours during standard listening and approximately 18 hours with Immersive Audio enabled. This gives the QuietComfort 2nd Gen enough endurance for long-haul flights, full workdays, and extended travel without frequent charging.

Comfort remains one of the defining characteristics of the QuietComfort family. Bose redesigned the headband with a wider profile, smooth adjustable sliders, and additional soft synthetic-leather cushioning. Clamping force was optimized to balance stability and long-session comfort, while the removable around-ear cushions help create both passive isolation and a secure acoustic seal. The complete headphones weigh approximately 0.507 lb / 230 g, keeping them exceptionally light for a full-size premium ANC headphone.

The White Smoke finish gives the redesigned QC silhouette a clean, understated appearance.
